Every five years the state of Oregon has a survey conducted to determine statewide outdoor recreation needs. In the most recent survey people were asked for the first time about their need for Nature Play Areas. The results show that Nature Play Areas in the top five recreation needs within Oregon’s Urban Growth Boundaries (UGB). This is significant especially since this is a newly identified need.
